Privacy
What ODIG keeps about you, why, and who sees it.
What we keep
Your name and email address, and your NZSG membership number if you give it. If you use the courses, we also keep which courses you've enrolled in, which course pages you've viewed, handbooks you've downloaded, and anything you post on a course board or send as a question.
Why
To sign you in with an emailed code, check your membership against the NZSG list, open the courses you enrol in and remember where you're up to on any device. If you tick the box, we also send you ODIG news. We record which course pages each person has viewed, so the course team can see who has seen what and help where needed, and we count page views to see which parts of the courses are used most.
Across the whole site we also record which pages are opened, what is searched for in the Resource Room, and which website or QR code brought you here, so ODIG can see what is useful. If you are signed in, this is recorded with your email address. If you are not, your browser keeps a random visitor number instead, which tells us nothing about who you are. Clearing your browser's history removes it.
Who sees it
The ODIG and course team. Your details are shared with NZSG, and never sold. If you post on a course board, your full name and post can be seen by others enrolled in that course. Private questions go only to the course team.
Where it's kept
In ODIG's Google Workspace account.
